Zimbabwe Cultural Centre of Detroit is excited to have Halima Cassells, a Detroit-based artist, as our 2018 Research Resident to Zimbabwe. Halima is a community advocate that designs spaces for collaborative artistic expression, as well as projects that engender new economy practices. She exhibits nationally and runs the Free Market of Detroit hyper-locally.
December 8, 2018 – January 14, 2019
This residence is made possible though our collaborator Dana Whabira from Njelele Art Station, who will host her stay, and the generosity of the Knights Foundation and Resonant Detroit, a Creative Many Michigan award.
