Born in Mutare 1967

George Chimbadzwa was born in Mutare and attended both his early education at Nyakatsapa. In 1992 he received his Diploma in Education from Marymount Teachers College and in 2002 a Diploma in Commercial Design from Bulawayo Technical College. His work has been exhibited and collected national in Victoria Falls and internationally in Zambia. Examples of recent successes are receiving awards for his work at the National Gallery Zimbabwe and a body of work being collected for the Fairfield Children’s Home at Old Mutare Mission. He was curated into the postcard project “I wish you were here” exhibited at the galleryDAAS in Ann Arbor, USA.

Chimbadzwa is an artist, a teacher and an inspiring musician. He is a patron for the local art club at Hartzell High School where he has been teaching since 2007.
