The goal of the RESIDENCE EXCHANGE program is to provide a physical research opportunity for a Detroit artist to visit Zimbabwe and a Zimbabwean artist to visit Detroit. The mission is  for the artists to explore each others culture and artistic community. 2017 ZCCD residence has been awarded to Joyce Jenje Makwenda, Zimbabwean author and archivist.
